|Recommended: YesDecent — The apartments are nice but good luck getting any answer about maintenance
|Recommended: YesLived here for 18m. We have a 2nd story corner apartment and it’s very quiet. Occasionally we hear people out in the hall, or the neighbor below closing his patio door. The rent is definitely high for the area we will probably have to move after this year. Thankfully we’ve had all of our maintenance requests taken care of promptly, however we would expect more from the maintenance of the building common areas landscaping. A hole in the wall beside the elevator was left unattended for months. After putting in a complaint the hole was patched, but not painted until another complaint was filed after another month or two. A company with this many properties but only 1 office is questionable, most likely out of touch with what’s going on at each location.
|Recommended: YesNoise — For a newer building complex, I expected the walls to be more sound proof. Can hear neighbors above pretty well and dogs barking.
|Recommended: YesReview — Overall everything has been very good. Maintenance was slow. The apartment is beautiful.
|Recommended: YesUncertain — Love the apartment Only concern about the construction quality is that you can hear a lot from the hallway next to the apartment. Office Staff are absolutely wonderful. They are helpful and always very pleasant. Grounds could be better maintained. Lots of beautiful birds at Northcape problem is they nest on lights of building and then there are A LOT bird droppings present right at the entrances. There are simple solutions to keep the birds from nesting on top of the lights. We have struggled with Maintenance requests from day one. Initially trying to get a botched paint job fixed and since then 2 separate incidents with our washer and dryer. Waiting ten days for dryer and now for our washer to be repaired. Wondering why a company as large as Steve Brown doesn't have a replacement they could bring out if it's going to take that long to fix. Although I don't know what the hold up is. Staffing Part ordering etc. as there has been NO communication to let me know why its taking so long, unless I initiate it with the helpful office staff. Frustrated, again.
|Recommended: YesLovely and quiet complex — I moved here on a recommendation and love it It’s quiet and cute here, friendly neighbors, great neighborhood, and a beautiful apartment. There are some quirks with the construction I’ve found but easily manageable. I love living here and have already recommended it to many.
|Recommended: YesMoved in this week — Just moved in this week, and very impressed with North Cape overall Looking forward to exploring Mount Horeb.
|Recommended: YesNew resident — We like it so far. Nice and quiet.
|Recommended: YesGood quality — It is got a great open floor plan.
|Recommended: YesGreat place to live. — very happy here until this week elevator broke on wed. not expected to be fixed until next week i am 80 yrs old and this causes a problem for me.
|Recommended: YesNice place — Clean, quite, modern. For sure the nicest place I've ever lived.
|Recommended: YesBest Apartments in Mount Horeb Area — I've lived in six apartments buildings in the years after going to UW Madison and there's a reason I've been at Northcape Appts for more than one lease term. Best apartments, I believe, in Madison Middleton Mount Horeb area.
|Recommended: YesClean and well laid out — The timely fashion to get things done by the property managers is a little alarming. It took over a week to get a new fab and there was never really any updates provided. Then the storage unit took 3 weeks to get with again poor communication. We always had to reach out to get answers instead of the property managers reaching out and letting us know what is going on.
|Recommended: NoNice place, poor management — It's fine unless you have a problem, then they ghost you.
|Recommended: YesFirst year here — Pleasant place to live. We are on 2nd floor of 2 floors and haven't noticed noise from adjoining units. Hopefully we aren't noisy for the units below us.
Having a parking spot plus storage unit underground, on-premises is a really nice amenity. Underground parking is fairly warm in the winter as well. Above ground lot parking not assigned can become quite full with just 2 buildings served, it'll be interesting to see what happens with a third building currently being built.
Maintenance have all been professional and personable when having to enter unit for minor fixes. I would feel comfortable having them enter while not at home.
Management has been very sincere and tenant serving in every interaction. There were a couple mix-ups that were frustrating for us, but management definitely came across sincere in their apologies moreso than I have come accustomed to in interactions with other management companies in previous apartments.
Security is noticeable, but not obtrusive. There are security cameras on-site, keyed entry, and lit parking lots. Although Mt Horeb doesn't seem like a village ripe with bandits, it's nice to have a layer of security.
Finally, very glad management is welcoming towards dogs and service animals.
